Description
The Dark Green Arborvitae (Thuja occidentalis ‘Dark Green’) is a great choice for a privacy screen that does not take up too much space. They are fairly fast growing and maintain their dense foliage as they mature. Ideal soil conditions are moist, but well drained soils. This tree is not a good choice for dry soils as it requires some moisture to thrive. Dark Green Arborvitae can handle some shade, but as shade amounts increase needles on the tree will begin to thin out. Native to Canada, down through New York and as far south as the mountains of North Carolina. They extend west to Illinois.
