Description

Roughleaf Dogwood (Cornus drummondii) is native to the united sates through the Midwest, into the Great Plains and near the edges of the Mississippi River.  It is often planted to support pollinators, cover for animals and for the wildlife value of the berries. The top of the leaf is covered in fuzzy hairs, making it feel rough. The flowers that it produces bloom in June and are creamy white.

The Roughleaf is a great option for wet areas , but can tolerate dry soils and will thrive almost anywhere. As it matures, it will spread through suckering to create a nice thicket.
